Will we see Cyclops and Jean Grey in that X-Men: 1st Class sequel?

Ever since we heard the exciting news that X-Men: First Class was officially getting its sequel—and that Matthew Vaughn would be back in the director’s chair—we’ve been psyched thinking about the many, many possibilities the sequel will without a doubt bring.

Those include (among others) questions over which favorite X-Man could make Xavier’s (James McAvoy) team next. More specifically, we wanna know if Scott Summers (aka Cyclops) and Jean Grey (aka Marvel Girl aka Phoenix) will be in the sequel. The two of them are, after all, original X-Men team members along with Iceman, Angel and Beast.

That X-Men: First Class sequel we’ve been waiting for is on!

The massive commercial and critical success of X-Men: First Class meant we were almost guaranteed to see a sequel sooner or later, we just didn’t know when or (perhaps more importantly) if director Matthew Vaughn would come back to helm the project.

X-Men First Class Trailer Now Online

We assume 20th Century Fox didn’t debut the trailer for the upcoming X-Men: First Class during the Super Bowl because it didn’t want the thing to get lost among all those superheroes like Captain America and Thor. But based on what we’ve just seen, it had nothing to worry about—because Marvel’s mutants have blown us away!

First Class will re-create X-Men’s opening scene frame by frame

X-Men First Class is taking shape

X-Men: First Class will be refilming a famous scene from the very first X-Men movie frame by frame, and it will be one of the most dramatic sequences of that film: The discovery, by a young Eric Lensherr (aka the future Magneto) that he is so much more than just an ordinary human being.

The powerful opening scene from the first X-Men movie took place in 1944 Nazi-occupied Poland and, according to Bleeding Cool, will be refilmed shot for shot (up to a point) with a few dramatic tweaks here and there, no doubt to allow the scene to fit in with the new movie.
