Just how dedicated is current showrunner Steven Moffat to Doctor Who? Dedicated enough to walk away from a sweetheart deal with Steven Spielberg and a potential Tintin film trilogy so he wouldn’t be distracted from the beloved BBC sci-fi program.

Who fans probably already know Moffat co-wrote the recent big-screen adaptation of Tintin, which was coming together right about when former Who showrunner Russell T. Davies handed the series reins to Moffat two seasons ago. Continue reading

Two filmmaking titans are bringing Herge’s globally popular comics to CGI life, and here are the first images from their collaboration.

Britain’s Empire magazine got an exclusive look at the first of three Tintin films Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson and making together, The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn, which is set to hit theaters in Fall 2011. Jamie Bell is “playing” Tintin—the films were shot using James Cameron’s performance capture technology-Andy Sirkis is playing Captain Haddock, and Daniel Craig, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost and Cary Elwes are also along for the ride.
