Toy Review – Dark Knight Rises Movie Masters Alfred Pennyworth By Mattel

On the one hand it is ridiculous that it has taken this long for Mattel to get around to making an action figure of the second-most-important living character in the Batman mythos. On the other hand, Mattel just released a figure of a frigging butler.

Looking at it from that latter perspective, it’s actually pretty amazing that this figure exists at all. Making a figure of a character that literally does nothing but stand around and talk is pretty risky, so kudos to Mattel for doing it.

Shakespeare goes sci-fi in Michael Caine’s post-apocalyptic Henry5

Henry 5 will be not what the bard predicted

Apparently, Michael Caine and Ray Winstone are heading up the cast of Henry5, a sci-fi take on Shakespeare’s classic historical drama. Where the heck do we sign up?

Details are a bit sketchy on Henry5: This particular band of brothers includes Caine, Winstone, Vinnie Jones, Gerard Depardieu and Derek Jacobi. It’s being directed by Michael Anderson, who’s been a cinematographer on a host of ads done by Ridley Scott Associates, and it’ll touch on the events of both Henry IV and Henry V.
