Look who’s replacing Bruce Campbell’s big chin in Evil Dead remake

There may not be an Ash in the upcoming Evil Dead remake, but the flick has booked the new male lead who will have to fill Bruce Campbell’s rather large shoes: Shiloh Fernandez (Red Riding Hood).

Fernandez likely won’t be the deadite-killer of the film, as the powers that be have already stated the new hero will be a female character this time around. But since Lily Collins (Abduction) dropped out, we don’t know exactly who that will be just yet. Continue reading

That Evil Dead reboot? Sam Raimi is still IN!

New Evil Dead Coming Our Way?

There’d been talk and whispers (actor Bruce Campbell being among the most vocal) that Evil Dead—one of the greatest horror/comedy cult movies ever made—would get the reboot treatment, but then things sort of died down. Until now. And the news is—Sam Raimi’s still in.

During the press tour for Starz’s Spartacus: Gods of the Arena (a prequel to the gloriously ultra-bloody and sexy Spartacus: Blood and Sand), producer Rob Tapert (of Hercules: The Legendary Journey and Xena: Warrior Princess fame) let slip that he and longtime business partner and friend Sam Raimi could still be set to revisit the completely insane world of The Evil Dead and the Necronomicon. We here at ESO feel as long as Sam Raimi and Bruce Campell involved we would be all for it.
