Guess which classic genre films were declared national treasures?

Empire get recognition, we knew it would :)

The National Film Registry has been declaring 25 films a year as treasures since 1989, and in the past has given shout-outs to such movies as Alien, Star Wars and E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial. And this year, a sci-fi AND a horror classic got added to the list.

Both The Empire Strikes Back and The Exorcist are now officially considered “culturally, historically or aesthetically” significant and must be be preserved for all time—but all of us here already knew that, didn’t we?
