The Sun is reporting the BBC is to continue showing The Sarah Jane Adventures, and complete the series, despite Elisabeth Sladen’s death.
BBC Bosses had been unsure about the shows future without Elisaberth Sladen – and how to explain Sarah Janes absence without upsetting young fans. But sources say they want it to continue as a tribute to Elisabeth.
Once the scripts have been rewritten, it is hoped the show will air this year. A source said “Writers will find a way to complete the series without Sarah.

The BBC has announced that no more episodes of The Sarah Jane Adventures will be filmed following the death of Elisabeth Sladen last month.
It was previously alleged that the series would continue despite the passing of the much-loved Doctor Who star, with scripts being re-written to explain Sladen’s absence.
However, in a statement issued on Wednesday, the BBC said: “Contrary to press reports today we can confirm that no new episodes of The Sarah Jane Adventures will be filmed following the tragic death of actress Elisabeth Sladen in April, 2011.
On this week show we talk about the first episode of Series Six of Doctor Who, “The Impossible Astronaut”, and then we will be paying homage to Elizabeth Sladen and have a small round table and talk about our favorite Sarah Jane Smith stories both from Doctor Who and The Sarah Jane Adventures.

Some Very Sad News from news.whoviannet.co.uk It is with deep regret that we report that Elisabeth Sladen has passed away, at the age of 63.
Sladen made her first appearance as Sarah Jane Smith in Doctor Who in 1973, and has been a prominent figure in the series since. Her starring role in her own CBBC spin off, The Sarah Jane Adventures, means that she will be remembered by a whole new generation of fans as well as those who followed her story in the Classic Series. It is understood that she passed away following a battle with cancer.
Doctor Who Magazine have tweeted: With great sadness, DWM must report the loss of our beloved Sarah Jane, actress Elisabeth Sladen. The best of best friends. Too, too sad.
The Sarah Jane Adventures Executive Producer Russell T Davies has been speaking to SFX recently about the appearance of former Doctor Who companion Jo Grant in the upcoming series 4.
Jo Grant will be reprised for the first time on television by actress Katy Manning; it is 37 years since Jo was last seen on TV, when she decided to leave the Doctor and travel with Professor Cliff Jones to the Amazon.
