Sin City 2 Gets Release Date, Some Confirmed Cast And 3D Images

Are we ready for the new Sin City??by Brendon Connelly, Source: Bleeding Cool.com

Some confirmations and a couple of surprises made up the official press release promising the imminent start of production on Sin City: A Dame to Kill For. Personally, I’m still surprised by the fact it’s happening at all.

Right off the bat Dimension films want us to know that Mickey Rourke and Jessica Alba will be coming back for more, which leaves a question mark hanging over the other original cast members we’d been expecting. Still plenty of time for the veterans to sign on of course – the film won’t start shooting until later in the Summer, all set for the freshly coined October 4th, 2013 release date.

Here’s the bit of the announcement I really wasn’t expecting, though:

The original SIN CITY broke new ground with its iconic stylish look and grossed over $160 million worldwide. FRANK MILLER’S SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR will not only bring fans back to the world that Rodriguez and Miller created, but will also add a new dimension by bringing their unique visual style to life in 3D.

Marvel Announces First X-Men By Neal Adams And Christos Gage

First X-men, Really?? Really?by Rich Johnston, Source: Bleeding Cool

This morning, Bleeding Cool reported the news that Neal Adams was to draw and co-write a First X-Men book with Christos Gage, following sources and stories over two years old. We presumed it was his much-promised and signed-off Wolverine series.

Well, it looks like we were half right. (UPDATE: Oh look, Wolverine is in it.) Marvel have just announced it. The announcement is still going on.

PBS Cut 24 Minutes From Series 2 Of Sherlock To Make Room For Adverts

Shertlock Getting a Trim by PBS??by Hannah Shaw-Williams, Source: Bleeding Cool

For purveyors of online video communities like Youtube and Blip, there’s often nothing more frustrating than having to sit through a 30 second ad just to watch a 2 minute video. So what if for every second of advert you have to watch, a second of the video you actually want to watch is edited away to make room?

Sound like a terrible idea? Not to PBS. US audiences who sat down eagerly last week to watch the imported second series of Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss’ Sherlock were disappointed to find that the 90 minute episode A Scandal In Belgravia had been cut down to 82 minutes in order to allow for the necessary “words from our sponsors”. Mark Gatiss Gives Up Some Details Of The First Episode Of Sherlock Season 3

Sherlock Series 3 will be....
by Brendon Connelly, Source: Bleeding Cool

It probably didn’t take too much to guess which story would form the basis of the next episode of Sherlock. The last chapter saw Holmes fake his death, and the next one will see him return, and that all points to an adaptation of The Adventure of the Empty House, the story wherein Conan Doyle gave his explanation of what went down. Fringe To Get Fifth And Final Season Of Thirteen Episodes

Fring is back for one final season. Woo Hooby Brendon Connelly, Source: Bleeding Cool

A deal has been closed for Fringe to get thirteen final episodes to round out its story and wrap up nicely. Well, in theory at least. Bad Robot television had a much longer to prepare for the ending of Lost and that still left most viewers at least a little niggled.

It seems that Bad Robot will have dropped their price to ensure Fox could – or rather, would – afford the new series. This will likely translate into lower budgets for the episodes, but it’s not necessarily so. Continue reading

Seth MacFarlane’s Flintstones Do-Over “On Life Support”

New Flintstones on Hold.. Good or Bad?by Brendon Connelly, Source: Bleedingcool.com

When Seth MacFarlane presented his first script for a new, animated Flintstones series to Fox Entertainment president Kevin Reilly, the feedback was actually positive, just not positive enough.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Reilly said that “likes it but doesn’t love it.” Continue reading

Pixar Announce New Film, Reveal Title For Another

Monster University next on the list for Pixarby Brendon Connelly, Source: BleedingCool.com

While Pete Docter‘s upcoming Pixar movie about “a journey into the human mind and creative process” is being kept as mysterious as before – we have that basic premise and a June 19, 2015 release date and nothing else – Pixar have started revealing little bits of new info about the other films on their slate.

Coming before Docter’s movie is The Good Dinosaur, directed by Bob Peterson, the other director of Up. This is the one is set in a world where that infamous cataclysmic meteor missed planet earth and the dinosaurs didn’t die out, evolving alongside mammals and, in the present day, sharing the planet with humans. The Gorillaz’ Pete Candeland To Direct Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride Movie

Mr Toad Coming to the Big Screen w/ a Gorillaz?by Brendon Connelly, source: Bleeding Cool

I took a trip on the Disney theme park attraction Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride once. It involved a lot of keeping my eyes shut and covering my ears. It’s a trip straight to hell, don’t you know.

Very, very creepy.

The ride was based on Disney’s short toon of the same name, adapting a segment of The Wind in the Willows. The next iteration in this chain is to be a full length feature. Continue reading

Roger Langridge’s Unseen Muppet Shows To Finally See Print In July

It's time for the Muppet Showby Rich Johnston, Source: Bleeding Cool;

It was a cultural crime against humanity. That Roger Langridge’s final Muppet Show comics never saw print at Boom!, caught in the twisting wind between Muppets owners Disney and Marvel and… whatever the hell it was that was going on there.

But in July, Marvel will begin to publish those unseen comics. Four issues of them, entitled Four Seasons. Continue reading

Battlestar Galactica: Blood And Chrome Not Moving Ahead As A TV Show

BattleStar Galactica: Blood and Chrome not coming to TV for nowby Brendon Connelly, Source: Bleeding Cool.com

Originally conceived as a series for the web, Blood and Chrome was given a TV pilot order and it’s the trailer for that we’ve been enjoying all day.

But despite the very positive reaction to this promo, Syfy have decided not to go ahead with a full series and if they make more episodes, it will be to their original plan for web videos. Continue reading
