Doctor Geek Live! The Science of Stargate
We had an historic moment at TimeGate 2013. For the first time, Doctor Geek, Mr. Flask, The First Mr. Creature and Madame Oracle (also the voice of DEUS-X) were together at a convention. It was an honor to have Doctor Geek’s Laboratory to be listed at the top of the hotel’s video marquee.
Our panel, Doctor Geek Live! The Science of Stargate was a lot of fun. It was great to see so many people enjoying our mix of science and fiction.

Archaeology In Fiction
This is a big day for me. My first book, Archaeology In Fiction, is now available via Amazon in both paperback and Kindle versions. I have taken my popular Archaeology in Fiction discussion which I have presented at various sci-fi and fantasy conventions and transformed it into an in depth discussion of Archaeology as it is depicted in fiction.
What is the truth? In this book we will explore:
• The fictions surrounding archeology
• Why we love and perpetuate those fictions
• What the truth behind the fiction really is

To celebrate the release of episode 3 we are holding a contest.
You may have noticed quite a few pop and geek culture quotes in our podcasts. Well, now you have a chance to put your observational powers to good use! Identify as many of the quotes that we use from geek culture as you can. Send an email to scott@drgeeklab.com. Include your name, email address, and the total number of quotes you found as well as the quotes themselves (so we can check your work). IMPORTANT: you need list only quotes from the scripted portions of the show. Any quotes contained within either the interview with Terrafugia or the wrap up of the discussion of the flying car will NOT be counted. When submitting, write out the quote (or enough of it to make it clear what you’re referencing) and what movie/television show/book it came from.
One point will be awarded for each valid quote. The person who has the greatest number of points will win a Dr. Geek’s Lab coffee mug AND a $10 Amazon gift card. In the event of a tie we will have a drawing to determine the winner. The winner will also be entered into an end-of-season contest where they will have an opportunity to compete for an awesome grand prize. The deadline for entry is Sunday, December 23rd.
