Old-time radio and comics heroes burst back onto the scene

Who knows what evil lurks in the hearts of men? (Hint: The guy dresses up in a cape and runs around at night. And it’s not Batman.)

The Shadow still knows — as do Flash Gordon, the Lone Ranger, the Green Hornet and other heroes of 1930s and ’40s radio shows, pulp magazines and movie serials.

These good guys are making a comeback, though mainly in comics and feature-length movies. Next month, The Shadow receives a comics reboot courtesy of Dynamite Entertainment, which also publishes ongoing series starring Flash Gordon and Green Hornet plus a new title with pulp hero The Spider that’s due in May.

Epic Mickey Sequel To Address The “Mistakes” Of The First – And Make Disney History With Frank Welker

Warren Spector has been developing his new Mickey Mouse videogame, a sequel to the much-hyped Epic Mickey in relative secrecy, but the mouse is out of the bag now, with the first details appearing in The Washington Post today.

Spector says that he made several mistakes with the first game, and has addressed them in creating this follow up, Epic Mickey: The Power of 2. First of all, he’s fixed the in-game camera. That really needed doing.

And The New Companion Is ….

In this age of social media, and the 24 hour news cycle, it is almost impossible for a television show to surprise its audience.  Sure, as fans, we all say we do not want to be spoiled, but in reality, when you love a show, you cannot help but be curious about what is going to happen, you cannot help but seek out spoilers.

As a result, producers, like  Steven Moffat, do their best to control the release of these spoilers.  But, try as they might, no one can keep such a big secret as who the companion will be.  That is why it was no surprise to find out that Sophia Myles will be coming back to Doctor Who as the new companion …. Wait!  What? No, strike that!
