NBC is at it again. Trying to do a successful science fiction show on non cable television is pretty challenging for the big networks. They did pretty good with Heroes, but alas they didn’t with Journeyman and The Event. Can NBC do it with Awake?
Without spoiling much of the first episode, the premise of the show is Michael Britten (Jason Isaacs) along with his wife Hannah Britten (Laura Allen) and son Rex Britten (Dylan Minnette) were in a car accident. In one world Rex is dead and Hannah is alive, but once he goes to bed and “falls asleep” he wakes up in another world where Rex is alive and Hannah is dead. The filmography of each world actually look different. The world where the wife is alive it looks bright and vibrant, and the other world looks a little washed and faded almost like it is a darker world.

*SPOILERS* DO NOT READ FURTHER IF YOU DON”T WANT TO BE SPOILED
I think we can call this a definite whoopsie on the part of AMC’s advertising department. If you don’t want to read major spoilers for The Walking Dead (both the series and the comics) then I suggest that you turn back now. To give you ample opportunity to do so, I shall insert an large photo of Norman Reedus into this story. For practical purposes.
