NBC is giving a full-season pickup to Friday night supernatural drama Grimm.

The show just became the only new NBC hour-long series to get a “back nine” episode order this fall. “We are very pleased to be making a full-season commitment for Grimm,” said NBC president Robert Greenblatt. “This series is turning the traditional procedural drama on its head and is attracting a loyal following for us on Friday nights. We love where it’s going creatively and we’re excited to deliver more episodes to our audience.”

Grimm has been beating Fox’s Fringe on Friday nights and has often rivaled CBS’ CSI: NY in the 9 p.m. slot, too. The show has also improved its time period by 50 percent for the network (the show is averaging 6.9 million viewers and a 2.3 adult demo rating when DVR is added). In fact, NBC is going to give Grimm a shot on Thursday nights — airing an episode in the Prime Suspect slot at 10 p.m. Dec. 8. At the very least, the move might get Grimm some additional sampling.

The last time we saw Batman, he was on the run (literally). He’d framed himself for the murder of Harvey Dent and single-handedly earned a spot on Gotham’s most wanted list. Matt Smith Talks series 7 and Doctor Who 50th Anniversaryby Brendon Connelly, Soucre: Bleeding Cool.com

Speaking on BBC Breakfast right now, Matt Smith has just spelled out his outstanding commitment to Doctor Who: they start filming in February for 14 new episodes, comprising “a full series”, a Christmas special, and a 50th anniversary special.

That’s 50th anniversary special singular, rather than a little mini-series, as some had speculated.

He was not explicit about these being his final episodes, but he could be seen to be clearly and deliberately ducking that question. Continue reading
