Steven Spielberg tried—and failed—to get a movie made out of Ray Bradbury’s short story collection The Martian Chronicles back in the ’90s. So it looks like it’s up to John Davis, a producer responsible for bringing Predator, I, Robot and Waterworld (uh-oh) to the screen, to finally make it happen.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Paramount has picked up the movie rights to Bradbury’s collection, which had previously been made into an NBC/BBC miniseries written by Richard Matheson (I Am Legend) in 1980.
There’s a picture I haven’t seen in a while.
Your illustration is the art that was on the cover of the 1986 World Science Fiction Convention Program Book (Confederation) that was held in Atlanta. Ray Bradbury was the Guest of Honor. I remember seeing him walking around the Marriot Marquis hotel, but did not get close enough to talk to him or get an autograph.
Those are the kind of memories to treasure Kirby, hope you enjoyed the article..
Peace
